Wandering Through Forms

BuddyOptical will host its exhibition and trunk show, “Wandering Through Forms” at CONTRAST on October 9 (Fri.) and 10 (Sat.). Most things in eyewear design have already been explored, long ago. The great eyewear of the past reflects the answers that designers of each era had already found. And yet, there are times when we still want to create something new. Something that feels as though we’ve seen it somewhere before, but somehow haven’t. How can we take what we have inherited from the past, reinterpret it for the present, and bring it into the world today? Thinking about this is, in its own way, a form of respect for the work of those who came before us. Rather than making the same thing again, we want to think about what comes next. For the exhibition, BuddyOptical will present its first new models in three years, “MUMBAI” and “OSLO.” The complete BuddyOptical collection, including the latest models, will also be on view.
