We are Computational Craftsmen
DIGRAPH
CONTRAST is pleased to announce an exhibition,"We are Computational Craftsmen" by creative studio DIGRAPH from April 15th, Saturday to 23rd, Sunday. DIGRAPH is led by designer Hiromasa Fukaji and programmer Junichiro Horikawa with the concept of "We are Computational Craftsmen," they explore new possibilities for expression by combining computational processes and craftsmanship. They have received numerous awards such as The One Show, CANNES LIONS, and D&AD Awards. In this exhibition, DIGRAPH's representative methods, a graphic work using "Plotter Drawing "*, a technique that explores the boundary between the digital and the physical, and in addition to a new ceramic work,"Com- Potte" series using a new method that utilizes a 3D printer and the computational process will be featured. With the ability to think logically using the computer as the starting point and the expressive power to create works in the real world, they challenge new creative works that fuse the characteristics of both computers and humans. *A method of converting digital data into physical movement using a plotter (a device that converts and outputs vector data) and drawing with various brush tools.
