Waves and Particles
suiteru
CONTRAST presented the first solo exhibition "Waves and Particles" by Kyoto-based audiovisual artist suiteru from October 20th, Sunday to November 3rd, Sunday. This exhibition showcased a series of audio-reactive works that blend the concepts of waves and particles, as well as the audio-reactive system itself. The audio-reactive system is an interactive mechanism in which images react to music in real-time, and the music is played simultaneously. This real-time nature brought about a unique sensation of “playing the video” and evoked a new perceptual experience through the experience of the system. In addition, the group of works created through them explored new forms of expression that combine waves and particles, such as incorporating wave-like objects into a particle system or scattering particles on the surface of a wave. By making parts of the work move faster or slower in time with sound, the artist attempted to provide an extraordinary sense of time in which sight and sound are linked. ー Supported by: X VISION Inc.
