To celebrate the 10th anniversaries of SUGARHILL and CARSERVICE, a pop-up event titled “GOLDEN WEEK SERVICE AREA” will be held at CONTRAST over two days, May 3 (Sun) and May 4 (Mon), featuring a pre-release of their MID SUMMER COLLECTION. The event will feature the display and sale of collection pieces, alongside exclusive items available only at the venue, a live screen-printing session by PAJA STUDIO, leather craft by yoman, and food and drink by DRIVE TRUE . There will also be vinyl-only DJ performances, making for a dynamic and multifaceted experience. Wi Deh Yah!

A charity event, “Wi Deh Yah!”, organized by a group of LGBTQIA+ and allied diasporan Jamaicans living in Japan, will be held at CONTRAST on Sunday, March 1, to support those affected by Hurricane Melissa. In October 2025, Hurricane Melissa — the strongest hurricane recorded to make landfall — struck Jamaica with winds exceeding 250 km/h, leaving 54 people dead, 109 injured, and more than 279,000 homeless. Nearly half of the population was affected through the loss of housing, livelihoods, and essential services. The event is both a fundraiser and a celebration of Jamaica’s creativity, resilience, and diversity, with a focus on communities where aid is difficult to reach, including rural women facing economic hardship and Jamaica’s LGBTQIA+ community. Through art, music, and performance, the event highlights the cultural connection between Jamaica and Japan while raising funds for recovery efforts. The program will include poetry readings, performances, DJs, food and drinks, as well as an art bazaar and silent auction featuring works by more than 20 artists. In 2022, CONTRAST opened as a creative space in Yoyogi-Hachiman, Tokyo. The interior, based on a 45-year-old structure, consists of three floors under the concept of "reconstruction," and is managed by IN FOCUS, a digital branding studio that operates under the theme of "We propose new perspectives through a collective pursuit of digital excellence.". The space not only serves as its own creative space but also aims to be widely open to the public, providing a space for continuous and experimental reconstruction by its users, breaking free from limitations. Focusing on various forms of expression and encountering the creators who produce them, we will come to understand the importance of "CONTRAST = comparison" in our endeavors.
